TCP ping (tcping)
Measures how long a TCP connection to a host and port takes. Send up to 10 probes with a timeout of 0.5–3 seconds each; only the connection is established and no data is sent, so it also works for ports whose service you cannot or should not speak to.
Probes run from this server, so they show reachability from the hosting, not from your own network. A failed probe can therefore mean the remote firewall dropped it — or that the port is filtered here. Limit: 6 probe runs per 2 minutes.
